Birthday Card

I made a birthday card in a step card fold. This was fun, I love this fold and it was really easy to do. I just needed to make something.  It was a bit of a pain because our room isn't done yet! still!  We have all the carpet ordered, now we have to wait for it to come in and then make an appointment for the install. It could be another 3 -4 weeks. All my craft stuff is in tubs all over the house, it's a real mess. But I got this card done so I am sharing with you. I'm not putting it in a challenge because I don't have time to look for a challenge.

I hope you guys like it. I like it! It was fun! Plus it might be awhile again before I have the stamina to pull everything out again. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate everyone of your comments. I also appreciate the fact that you even take the time to come by. Hugs, Pam

We have been friends for more than 30years, and will be for 30 more:)) I used a MS butterfly punch, and some spellbinders for the circles behind the Emerson stamp. The strip of paper under the image is an EK Success punch.

"Happy Happy Hippo" Birthday Card

Update: I won with this card Ch.# 101 at Paper Cutz Challenge. WOO WOO!!

(((( If some of my friends are looking for the awards I have for them go to July 19th)))).

This is a fun card to do. It is also my first shaped card. I used Birthday Bash, to get the shape for the card, and also for the ice cream eating "Happy Happy Hippo"!

The Circle is a die and I ran it through my cuttlebug with the tiny bubbles folder. Added some white yarn and green twine, colored brads, and google eyes. I am going to make another one and put it on a wobble, I should have this one.  No biggie I'll just add it to the next one. I always do at least 2 of each card I make anyway.

I will be putting it in some challenges, that I will list at the end of the post. Don't know which ones yet!  I hope you guys like it, Hugs, Pam

A Fruity Day Today

I was looking at some challenges and found a couple that I decided to make a card for. This one was really fun to do. Most of it comes from the Just because Cards cartridge.

The card base was cut at 5.50". The green layer I cut at 5.25" and then hand drew the scallops. I can hear you guys all yelling at me, your gypsy can do that for you!!  Yes if  only I knew how to work it. I really must do that soon too. The lemon is from the same cartridge, and cut at 3". The ovals were cut with my Spellbinder dies. The red oval I ran through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Buttons from my stash. Ribbon from JoAnns. Solid paper is Bazzill, the plaid paper is DCWV.

I will enter the card in the following challenges:

My Creative TimeThrowback Thursday #209: Use the Wild card or Just Because Cartridge
PaperPlay Challenge # 27: Fruity
Flourishes Boutique:  Farm Fresh Challenge
Cooking With Cricut Challenge #41: Anything Goes Cricut

A Birthday Card For a Friend

I needed to do a birthday card for a friend of mine who's big day is a couple weeks away. I was feeling pretty good, so when that happens I try to craft some. This is the card I made for her. I also found a few challenges that I could put it in. I will list them at the bottom of the post, as I usually do.

This card was really simple but it took a little time. I don't know if you can tell that the background is individual strips of various papers, that I glued on at a angle. The lady is a Emerson stamp, love these stamps. The Happy Birthday stamp is one from my stamp drawer:) MS butterfly punch, EK Success border punch, and a oval I did by hand using a pattern. I layered the gold butterflies on top of a black one, and then put a really small piece of a pop up in-between so the wings would stand up a little. I don't know that you can tell that. The sentiment on the  stamp is something my friend says all the time. She's going to love this!!

The challenges I am going to put the card in are the following:
Birthday Sundaes Challenge #16: Anything Goes
Sentimental Sunday Challenge #62: Anything Goes

My Grandson actually rode one!!

I found this cut on A Child's Year and it brought back so many memories. My Grandson had a fire engine car when he was young that he rode all around the yard. He is 17 now, riding toys are way over. Now he drives motorcycles and cars. I kinda wish he was 3 again! Here's my card.  I found a few challenges still using red, white, and blue, or summer fun. Listed below.

This a A2 card. The solid papers are all American crafts.  The checked paper is DCWV.  The little flowers are a EK Success punch, and the little pearl in the center I made with a Viva Decor pearl pen in cream. If you haven't tried this stuff it's pretty cool.

I will be putting this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #117: Red, white, and blue
Paper Playtime #49: Red,white, and blue
The Pink Elephant Color Challenge #106: Red,white, and blue
Getting Cricky Challenge: Summer-Time Fun
My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #15: Sunny Days

Sweet Summer Watermelon!

As I said in a earlier post I have been doing really good for a few days. I can't count on my  back and legs to cooperate with me living my life so I have to do as I can do it. If that makes sense?  So here is another card I was able to do yesterday.  I kinda like it, it's very summer to me, and bright, so it makes me happy!

The base is an  A2 out of really bright lime green. The papers are all  Bazzill. The ribbon is green gingham, I wish the picture was better. On the tan piece I used the mesh folder with the Cuttlebug. The watermelon and brown scallop on the side of the card base is from the Just Because Cards Challenge.  The banner is from the Just a Note that is preloaded on the E2 machine.  The lime green buttons are from JoAnn's. The little white dots I used my Inkssentials white pen.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Cooking with Cricut Challenge: Include a watermelon on your project.
Bitten by the Bug2 Challenge: Use a watermelon

Friends

This is a card I did using Kate's ABC's Cartridge. I really like this cart. It has some of the sweetest little girl, or young lady images. Yet it has so many other uses too. I've been having some good days, so I made a few cards in the past three days. Sometimes I make things hard on myself, because I like to always make at least 2 of every thing I make. That way I can give some away and still have one for a pattern. I also make cards for my sister-in-law, sister, and my daughters. So when I put little bundles together for them I need multiples.

Well enough chatter, this is the card I did. I will be entering it in some challenges if I find some it might fit.

The solid paper I used was Bazzill, and the patterned paper was from the American Girl super pad. The ovals were cut from Elegant Edges, and the Bonnet and Friends are from Kate's ABC's Cartridge. I thought it came out kinda cute, and I loved this color combo. When I was poking posies, I loved mixing red and purple, and pink and orange, you just need a anchor color. I hope you like it too.

By the way I want you all to know about a new blog I just found, and she has a huge giveaway going. Go check her out. Her blog is fantastic, she is just awesome. Creating from the Heart. Really go see her!

I will be entering this card in the following Challenges:

Paper Cutz Challenge # 97: Use Pink, Orange, White and a little Black
Phindy's Place Challenge #61: Going round in circles

The 4th of July is Coming Soon!

I made this card in honor of the 4th of July. I love all the holidays that honor or countries Heroes.  Men and women who do the hard but most worthy job of being in our military. Whether peace time or war they deserve our gratitude. So any time you see a soldier remember to say thank you for your service, and shake their hand, or touch their shoulder if they don't have one.

This is a really easy to do card. It is mainly layers of paper, the yellow paper has stars all over it, the blue mat is cuttlebugged, some buttons, a little gingham  ribbon and the image is from A Child's Year cartridge. I did cut some red to put on the flag the little boy is waving, and a blue star on top of the little wagon flag, it's hard to see but it's there:)

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Cricut Cardz Challenge: #80: use an American flag
Designed 2 Delight: Red, White, & Blue and /or summer
Craft Us Crazy #11: Red, White, Blue or summer
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 66:  Red, White and Blue
My Craft Spot : Seeing Stars
Celebrate the Occasion #20: 4th of July. red, white,& blue
Woodware USA clear Stamps #33: Patriotic Theme and/or Colors

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew 6/21 -- 6/28

Hi My Crafty Friends,

The link Up Love Party sponsored by Kristal at Getting Cricky with K Andrew  is something she does every month. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends,  and for them to get to know you. You will get new inspiration, and friendship from some of the most lovely people in the blogging world. Make Getting Cricky one of your favorite places to visit, her blog is full of inspiration, challenges, stamps, and encouragement.

I have never done a party before so lets hope I do it right. Now I am supposed to post something from my blog that is a favorite of mine. This was a post from today. A Z fold card. I love Z folds.

This is the inside of the card.

The next part of the guidelines is to share something I am grateful for.  That is so easy for me. It would be hands down my husband. I am handicapped from a severe bone disease that is eating up my spine. I can stand for about 5 minutes at a time. I take very strong pain meds but I still can only stand or walk for that short a time. So there is very little I can do physically. My dear husband works full time. Plus he takes care of me, our yard, cars, does all the shopping, cooking, and cleaning.  When I do go some where he has to push me in my wheelchair, which is a real hassle. But he never complains. He is the blessing of my life. I don't know what life would be like without him.

A Smile and a Daisy - How Sweet!

This week I felt pretty good so I made a few cards for a few challenges. I could have just made one card for all the different challenges but having good days to craft for me, comes at intervals. The last couple of days were good, so I enjoyed doing more than one. Here's the second card I did. I am putting this card in a few challenges. I'll give that  information at the bottom of my post. I'm so sorry the pictures are so washed out. I am trying different things to fix that, but haven't yet as per these photos. This is a bright and cheerful card, I wish it showed that way.

This is a Z fold card. I really like this style of card. It is something different than a regular A2 but still fits in a A2 envelope. The stamp I colored, I am a horrible color-er!! So sorry.  But I liked the little Ladybug, I just think she is so sweet. And the Peachy Keen Stamps make her even more sweet. She is holding a daisy, by far the sweetest of God's flowers in my humble opinion. My girls' would bring me a daisy almost everyday in the summer when they were little. A daisy always makes  me  smile.  The sun Is from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I love this cartridge. The punch is a EK Success punch, I don't know what it is called.   Here's a shot of the inside.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

  1.  My Craft Spot: How Sweet it is #13
  2. Getting Cricky with K Andrew:  Face It!
  3. Fantabulous Cricut:  Summer Fun #65

Birthday Card

My granddaughter just had her 12th birthday. It is a really big deal for her because we have always told her she had to have a babysitter until she was 12. This is the card I made her.
She has always been our princess.  This was made on my new E2 machine I bought from  HSN.

Recipe
  • This is a standard A2 light pink card base. 51/2" x 81/2" scored and folded in half.
  • The teal poka dot paper layer is 4"x 51/4".
  • The Label is #4 from Cricut Essentials pg 30 button 14. Cut (I think) both layers at 41/2".
  • The princess is from Cricut Decals pg 53 button 33. It's under pairs 1. Cut at 31/2".
  • Finished with google eyes and pink buttons.
  • My Happy Birthday sentiment is inside.
  • Papers are American Crafts, and DCWV. Buttons and eyes are from JoAnns.
This card could be used for other occasions besides birthdays. Both cartridges I used, Cricut Essentials and Cricut Decals comes pre-loaded on the new E2 machine. I love love love this machine!! I hope you like my card.

Hope you all have a wonderful week. Please leave comments. I love hearing from all of you. Hugs, Pam.

Followers, yeah!!

I went on the blog this morning and yeah I finally have followers. I am so excited!!! Why someone would look at my blog is beyond me, but I am so glad they did. Now I must actually do something to honor these ladies, and  be a blogger, wow! I will start by putting up a couple cards I have made, but there will be no directions because I didn't take notes when I made them. I can tell you the paper is either DCWV, ColorBok or The Paper Studio. The lady stamps are Emerson stamps. I love these stamps, they are so cute! Please share your comments, I would love to hear from you. Hugs, Pam
