Let me tell you a story about an amazing Lady :))))
There was a crafter who had just started out in this big blog world. She spent many days trying to figure out how to scratch out her place in this vast new world she had decided to explore. There was trial and errors, blog backgrounds, and on and on and on!
Yes it's true this crafter is me! A truly inexperienced computer user. Up till a few weeks ago my computer usage was to read emails from my family, and browsing the blogs of very talented ladies who make beautiful things. A couple of weeks ago I decided to post my first card. Starting a new adventure for me. I can not be as prolific in my card making as I truly would love to be. But I do my best. When I actually got some followers I thought every one has a blog button. I set out to find information that would help me make my button.
My button has a lot of meaning behind it. My husband wrote me a book of prose for Christmas. He is a musician and I use to dance. So this book was his way of telling me he still sees his dancer when he looks at me. Which means so much to me, because, I can barely walk now, I certainly don't dance anymore. He used this picture, which represents him and me, to illustrate one of the poems he wrote me. He titled the book "The Dance".
I thought I had found the information I needed, and I posted my button. Not knowing if it worked, or if indeed anyone would even take it. Then a couple of days ago, there was a comment from Amy. Amy has a couple of blogs. Love to Crop and the other is Decorate to Celebrate. She told me my button had a broken code, but that she had fixed it for me. She gave me her email and we began to talk.
During this exchange she offered to fix it or even change it, if I wanted her to. I was so blessed by her offer. I told her the story of the picture and, she agreed it needed to be that picture. She took it added a border, my blog name and then added "Dance". It was perfect!! Now I have a beautiful button, that works awesome! looks awesome! is awesome!
All because of a sweet stranger that now I call friend. Her light is so bright. Her heart is big. She has taught me this community of crafters is awesome. A group of loving, caring people. I am so happy to be apart of all of you. She is not the only precious lady who has helped me. Another Amy in fact, helped me figure out how to put a blog award she gave me up on my blog. Both of these ladies are very special, kind hearted and giving women. I have met many, many caring women since this adventure started.
Thank you all for helping a new member of this community. I feel very welcomed, and blessed to have met you. I do call you friends. When you look at my button, which is beautiful, remember a wonderfully sweet and talented lady named Amy:)

Sweet Summer Watermelon!
As I said in a earlier post I have been doing really good for a few days. I can't count on my back and legs to cooperate with me living my life so I have to do as I can do it. If that makes sense? So here is another card I was able to do yesterday. I kinda like it, it's very summer to me, and bright, so it makes me happy!
The base is an A2 out of really bright lime green. The papers are all Bazzill. The ribbon is green gingham, I wish the picture was better. On the tan piece I used the mesh folder with the Cuttlebug. The watermelon and brown scallop on the side of the card base is from the Just Because Cards Challenge. The banner is from the Just a Note that is preloaded on the E2 machine. The lime green buttons are from JoAnn's. The little white dots I used my Inkssentials white pen.
I will enter this card in the following challenges:
Cooking with Cricut Challenge: Include a watermelon on your project.
Bitten by the Bug2 Challenge: Use a watermelon
Bitten by the Bug2 Challenge: Use a watermelon
Friends
This is a card I did using Kate's ABC's Cartridge. I really like this cart. It has some of the sweetest little girl, or young lady images. Yet it has so many other uses too. I've been having some good days, so I made a few cards in the past three days. Sometimes I make things hard on myself, because I like to always make at least 2 of every thing I make. That way I can give some away and still have one for a pattern. I also make cards for my sister-in-law, sister, and my daughters. So when I put little bundles together for them I need multiples.
Well enough chatter, this is the card I did. I will be entering it in some challenges if I find some it might fit.
The solid paper I used was Bazzill, and the patterned paper was from the American Girl super pad. The ovals were cut from Elegant Edges, and the Bonnet and Friends are from Kate's ABC's Cartridge. I thought it came out kinda cute, and I loved this color combo. When I was poking posies, I loved mixing red and purple, and pink and orange, you just need a anchor color. I hope you like it too.
By the way I want you all to know about a new blog I just found, and she has a huge giveaway going. Go check her out. Her blog is fantastic, she is just awesome. Creating from the Heart. Really go see her!
I will be entering this card in the following Challenges:
Paper Cutz Challenge # 97: Use Pink, Orange, White and a little Black
Phindy's Place Challenge #61: Going round in circles
Phindy's Place Challenge #61: Going round in circles
The 4th of July is Coming Soon!
I made this card in honor of the 4th of July. I love all the holidays that honor or countries Heroes. Men and women who do the hard but most worthy job of being in our military. Whether peace time or war they deserve our gratitude. So any time you see a soldier remember to say thank you for your service, and shake their hand, or touch their shoulder if they don't have one.
This is a really easy to do card. It is mainly layers of paper, the yellow paper has stars all over it, the blue mat is cuttlebugged, some buttons, a little gingham ribbon and the image is from A Child's Year cartridge. I did cut some red to put on the flag the little boy is waving, and a blue star on top of the little wagon flag, it's hard to see but it's there:)
I will enter this card in the following challenges:
Cricut Cardz Challenge: #80: use an American flag
Designed 2 Delight: Red, White, & Blue and /or summer

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew 6/21 -- 6/28
Hi My Crafty Friends,
The link Up Love Party sponsored by Kristal at Getting Cricky with K Andrew is something she does every month. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends, and for them to get to know you. You will get new inspiration, and friendship from some of the most lovely people in the blogging world. Make Getting Cricky one of your favorite places to visit, her blog is full of inspiration, challenges, stamps, and encouragement.
I have never done a party before so lets hope I do it right. Now I am supposed to post something from my blog that is a favorite of mine. This was a post from today. A Z fold card. I love Z folds.
The next part of the guidelines is to share something I am grateful for. That is so easy for me. It would be hands down my husband. I am handicapped from a severe bone disease that is eating up my spine. I can stand for about 5 minutes at a time. I take very strong pain meds but I still can only stand or walk for that short a time. So there is very little I can do physically. My dear husband works full time. Plus he takes care of me, our yard, cars, does all the shopping, cooking, and cleaning. When I do go some where he has to push me in my wheelchair, which is a real hassle. But he never complains. He is the blessing of my life. I don't know what life would be like without him.

A Smile and a Daisy - How Sweet!
This week I felt pretty good so I made a few cards for a few challenges. I could have just made one card for all the different challenges but having good days to craft for me, comes at intervals. The last couple of days were good, so I enjoyed doing more than one. Here's the second card I did. I am putting this card in a few challenges. I'll give that information at the bottom of my post. I'm so sorry the pictures are so washed out. I am trying different things to fix that, but haven't yet as per these photos. This is a bright and cheerful card, I wish it showed that way.
This is a Z fold card. I really like this style of card. It is something different than a regular A2 but still fits in a A2 envelope. The stamp I colored, I am a horrible color-er!! So sorry. But I liked the little Ladybug, I just think she is so sweet. And the Peachy Keen Stamps make her even more sweet. She is holding a daisy, by far the sweetest of God's flowers in my humble opinion. My girls' would bring me a daisy almost everyday in the summer when they were little. A daisy always makes me smile. The sun Is from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I love this cartridge. The punch is a EK Success punch, I don't know what it is called. Here's a shot of the inside.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:- My Craft Spot: How Sweet it is #13
- Getting Cricky with K Andrew: Face It!
- Fantabulous Cricut: Summer Fun #65
Sunny Days of Summer
Over at Bitten by the Bug 2, the challenge is: Celebrate with Flourish, Sunny Days.
At The Kraft Journal, their challenge is: Welcome Summer. The Celebrate the Occasion challenge is: Celebrating Summer. So I made this simple little card using Doodlecharms and Create a Critter for these challenges.I'm so sorry the color doesn't show up in the picture. I need lessons in how to take a picture!!
I tried a new paper technique (for me) with this card. I cut several 2" strips of paper, cut them diagonally to make triangles and glued them at a angle on cardstock 3 3/4"x 5", then trimmed around it, to look like a sunburst. Wrapped some green twine and knotted. Then glued it on top of the white layer. It was really easy, and I used a lot of scraps, but very time consuming. I used the Cuttlebug on the green square under the phrase. Learning new things is fun, but this is not something I will do a lot. I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day week-end.

Thanks for being a great Dad !
This is a pretty simple card. The layering was not at all bad to do. Some images I find a real pain to put together because of all the tiny pieces. The phrase however was a pain!! I think it was my paper though. I used a line called The Paper Co. This paper works great for large cuts or to use as a base, but small cuts tear, or at least for me. To give credit where due I got the idea from Mary at Cardz TV.
Recipe
- A2 card base with Kraft cardstock.
- White layer, white basic cardstock
- Plaid layer is DCWV
- Cartridge is Just Because Cards: the top note is on pg. 55. Red is 3.75, and white is 3.50. The white one I ran through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.
- The melon also on pg. 55, was cut at 3.50 with all of it's layers.
- The phrase also pg. 55, was cut at 2.50. I only cut it once out of red. The melon was popped up.
- Inside says : I could say it a Melon times... Thanks for being a great Dad!
I found a challenge that requires the use of Kraft cardstock. So I entered this card at The Kraft Journal.

Have You Missed Me Yet???
I haven't been able to blog for awhile. I have mentioned in earlier posts that I have a really bad back. It gives me fits, more than not it causes me a lot of pain. My legs also swell up so bad I can barely walk. Some how the problems with my back and legs are connected, or so they tell me. My daughter is a teacher and going to have a baby boy in September. Her fellow teachers gave her a diaper shower yesterday. So today I made 21 post a note gifts for her to use as thank you cards.
The ones like this, with a picture of the school mascot, are for the secretaries and the principal. She will write a thank you note to them on the first post a note inside. It's hard to see but they are really cute little guys. They are Trail Blazers.
These are the ones for the teachers to receive. This is a Emerson stamp. I just got 15 new stamps yesterday. This one says, Listen Honey You Can't Scare Me... I'm A Teacher. And again she will write her thank you inside. Cute huh!!
Thank you for your visit. Please leave a comment and say hi so I know you were here. I read everyone of them. They make my day. I also look for your blogs so I can say hi back.
Well I hope you all enjoy your week-end. Hugs, Pam
